I just installed project Rome because I was on a nostalgia kick hoping to play a conquest at White Pass or Atacama Desert even if it was just one last time. Yet, the only bot server that gets people coming in is stuck on Arica Harbor and the map vote does nothing.
How does this work? do bots not work on any other maps?
There’s actually a second one with bots called “Vanilla Unslaught” that have all the maps if I’m not mistaken.
There’s even a third one, “Vietnam Unslaught” I think, which includes the maps and content from the Vietnam DLC.
Yes bots on the other maps is possible. I’m a developer currently working on a solution for those who would like to have other maps available to play on with bots. There was a Russian developer, Napisal, who used to be pretty active in the community doing the same work several years ago and I’m picking up where he left off.
However, whether you will be able to play these maps on Rome’s multiplayer servers (once I finish implementing and testing thoroughly) will totally be up to the server owners. So I’m also implementing a patch that allows you to play ‘multiplayer’ game modes offline with bots only, similar to Call of Duty Black Ops’s training mode.
