I have a problem with custom key bindings in Venice Unleashed Build 20939.
Problem:
Custom key bindings work correctly during a VU session, and they remain active when changing servers/rounds. However, after completely closing Venice Unleashed and launching it again, all custom key bindings are lost and return to the default keys.
Example:
Default: Prone / S’allonger = W
I change it to C
I click Apply.
C works correctly in-game.
I can join another server and C is still assigned.
I completely exit VU.
I restart VU.
Prone is back to W.
I also tested another command:
Reload = C
It works during the session.
After restarting VU, it returns to R.
Troubleshooting already performed:
Battlefield 3 (non-VU) saves custom key bindings correctly.
VU keeps custom bindings between different servers/rounds during the same session.
VU loses all custom bindings after a complete restart.
Reinstalling the latest VU version did not solve the problem.
I tested VU without my installed mods; the problem remained.
Windows file permissions were checked and are correct.
Running vu.exe as Administrator did not solve the problem.
Documents\Battlefield 3\settings\PROF_SAVE_profile is not modified when changing controls in VU.
The registry key HKCU\Software\VeniceUnleashed\Profile contains no key-binding data.
The problem therefore appears to be specifically related to VU’s persistence of Battlefield 3 custom controls between client sessions.
Could you please tell me where VU stores these key bindings, or whether this is a known issue in Build 20939?
