In VU you are free to host your own servers and customize them to your needs. There are two ways to do that:
1. Hosting it yourself
You can host the server yourself, either on your own computer or some server you are renting. In general, it is not recommended to host public servers on your own computer, as residential internet connections are not reliable and neither is consumer computer hardware, so local servers are best used for things like LAN parties, events, and mod development or testing.
In order to prevent abuse, every user can host up to 2 servers. If you need to host more (eg. because you have a clan or some gaming community) you can request to raise the limit from this page.
You can find an in-depth guide on how to set up your own server in the VU wiki, by following this link: https://docs.veniceunleashed.net/hosting/
2. Renting a server
If you don’t want to go through the trouble of setting up and maintaining a server yourself, or if you want guaranteed performance, you can rent a VU server from a third party server provider. Many providers will also offer additional features like DDOS protection and server management panels.
You can find a list of server providers to choose from here: https://docs.veniceunleashed.net/hosting/renting/
