Description
“No Vietnam Filter” is not only a mod that gets rid of the vietnam-movie like post processing effects, but also improves the general lighting in a more realistic way. While this vietnam-movie look is somehow fitting, I personally don’t like it, so I decided to change the post processing effects to a more realistic look and ended up with a complete lighting overhaul. I still call the mod “No Vietnam Filter”, because at its core it does only that: get rid of the vietnam-movie look.
Since pictures are saying more than thousands words I will stop writing unnecessary stuff now, simply enjoy!
No ENB, ReShade, SweetFX etc. used, so no FPS loss!
This mod modifies & affects only the Vietnam maps!
All screenshots were created with the highest graphics settings & bloom disabled.
Features:

Which means:
- No washed out look
- Reduced bloom
- Brighter shadows
- Better fitting LOD colors*
- Better feeling for depth of a map
*except for the map “Operation Hastings” which has weird lighting even unmodified.

Requirements
Installation
Client
- Open BFBC2 Mod Loader and click “Install Mod”
- Choose the mod (.zip archive) and let the tool install it
- That’s it, enjoy!
Optional: To get the same result as in the screenshots, you need to disable bloom!
- Navigate to C:/Users/YourUserName/Documents/BFBC2/ and open settings.ini with a text editor
- Change “Bloom=true” to “Bloom=false”, save the file and close the text editor
- Right click settings.ini → Click Properties → Tick Read-only → Click Apply and then click OK

Disclaimer
Since BFBC2 Mod Loader modifies two game files directly, there is always the risk of a BAN! I use client-side modifications (cosmetic stuff only) on official servers (Punkbuster protected) as well as on Nexus Emulator/Project Rome servers for a long time without any problems. Even the official servers are modded as hell, so I don’t expect a ban in the future. I am still NOT responsible for any BAN you get, so use this mod on your OWN RISK!
