So just to walk you through what I see…
I have bot spawn set as:
spawnMode = 'increment_with_players', -- mode the bots spawn with
spawnInBothTeams = true, -- Bots spawn in both teams
On Noshar, I spawned as a US player and jumped into the little bird
I could see 4 bots had spawned on the RU side, none on mine (which is how I prefer it)
I flew in and captured all 3 points without seeing any bots.
I spawned an addition 4 bots on the RU side, still no counter attacks.
I then flew to the RU spawn and saw all 8 bots standing around without engaging.
I landed right in front of one of the bots and saw no reaction.
I then proceeded to kill all 8 bots in the hope that they would respawn, but after more than 30 seconds, none of them had respawned.
This was consistent when trying on Karkand, Subway etc. (i.e. maps that worked with 1.7.0.7)
So two issues:
Bots aren’t engaging
Bots didn’t seem to respawn when killed
Deleting the 1.7.0.8 mod and re-adding the 1.7.0.7, and bots were capturing and attacking as expected.
On a side note, “spawnInBothTeams = true” weirdly enough didn’t seem to spawn any bots on my team (which is how I like it), as the above spawn setting spawns 4 bots (which is what I’ve set my start bot count at) and then adds 2 for each additional player.

I will try to figure out whats happening with 1.7.0.8.
As far as I tested you cases, I can’t reproduce one of them. I will continue testing. Thats Development… ^^
But soon there will be a new release version
For now just stay with 1.7.0.7.
One thing we noticed is that the Mod “NoPreRound” creates issues when used with the new version…
Thanks Joe…that will probably explain it in my situation as to why it’s acting up … I will retest w/o NoPreRound, but would of course love if it worked with said mod, as I absolutely hate the 30 seconds of waiting before the round kicks off
But it has some new features and fixes. I’m happy for everyone who uses this and helps me to find the problems / issues in there.
If you only want to play on a really stable version then please don’t use this one

You’re doing God’s work my friend…it’s beautiful. I want to ask you, something fell on my mind few minutes ago, I don’t know if it will be possible to do, for bots to occasionally trigger commo rose and do their own “go go go” voice or something else from the box, to fill the field with some voices…not a priority obviously, but, as a fun idea, maybe in the future you could see if it’s workable
Absolutely amazing mod!
This allows me and my friends to have a good challenging game any time of the day, without having to wait for other players to join or having to worry about people leaving mid-game.
I see you’ve made preparations in getting bots to use vehicles. Really curious to see that develop further.

Just be careful with making the bots too realistic though. Before we know it, they start complaining in chat, t-bag us or rage quit.

Finaly making some progress on the vehicles! Still far from fun to use, but who is intersted in the current state can have a look at the latest master-commit on Conquest small Bazar.
I will let you know when there is something new
Also in the latest master Squad-Death-Match as gamemode.
Big shout out to all the people contributing to fun-bots!!! Really crazy what got out of this in the last few months!

ATTENTION: we are currently refactoring lots of stuff. Therefore there might be some untested issues in Version 1.7.1.X. So if you only want a better tested mod, just stay a little longer with 1.7.0.x…
To anyone who wants to test a little with the new features you can checkout the “master_V2” branch.
This is heavy development as we are working on lots of things rn, but the vehicle-handling of the bots gets better (Tests on Bazar and Kharg-Island in Conquest-Small) and some other features have been added as well.
Rn the UI has no settings yet and to access it you need to add the permissions as described in the readme on the “master_V2” branch.
I will inform you as soon as this gets more and more stable. Till then: at your own risk and let me know if you find some bugs or issues …

What is the next features that will make it to the next update? I know you’re working with the vehicles currently, but do you think it will be possible for bots to takedown enemies with their knives someday?

You can sneek the current progress in the master_V2 branch.
We are currently working on a full rework of the UI (Bizzi is the UI-man) and I am working on the vehicles and also a lot of refactoring and fixing and tweaking and so on ^^.
To the knife-takedown:
I already tried to add this at the beginning, but it seems that a client is needed to do so. I can trigger the takedown, but all that happes is that the server lags and only a normal knife-stab is applied.
Maybe there will be a new feature in VU that enables this one day, but atm I think this is not possible.
But as workaround you can increase the Knife-Damage to 2.0. That would result in an instant knife-kill by the bots
